Advance caching plugin inactive Requires define (‘WP_CACHE’, true); in wp-config.php file

If you ever experience this type of issue on your WordPress website, even if you do not have knowledge in Coding, don’t worry with this article, you will be able to resolve this. My coffee details is on the last part of the course.

See  the below steps on how to resolve this.

You need to be very carefully when making changes to your wp-config.php file.

So, lets get to resolve this issue together.

How to locate your wp-config.php file?

So, the next step is to locate where wp-config.php file is on your hosting server;

Login to your Cpanel and you can find wp-config.php file in the File Manager side, see below picture;

Click on the file manager and scroll down to where you’d find wp-config.php

Right click on your mouse at   wp-config.php     the options would pop up so you can then select ‘’EDIT’’

So the issue is for us to update on our Advance caching plugin inactive Requires define (‘WP_CACHE’, true); in wp-config.php file.

So look at the below picture where to insert the code, after inserting you can save and log out of your Cpanel.

Now, login to your wordpress dashboard at your Cpanel side, go to ‘’Installed Plugins’’ see the highligted in yellow side to see the status of what you just did.

As you can see the issue has been updated and no longer requestesting us to define (‘WP_CACHE’, true); in wp-config.php file.

And most times the issue is due to the outdated ‘’W3 Total Cache Plugin’’ which also needs to be updated, I will also explain how you can do that very easily. You only need to update if there is a notification pop up for you to do it.

Sometimes you might find it difficult to search for the Plugin as cache file might be affecting your network.  Go to https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/ and download the plugin directly, the downloaded software would come as a zipped file, there won’t be a need for you to extract it, just save the zip file on your desktop to enable upload. Go to add new plugin, at the top left side, you’d see the label to upload your stuff – Just upload the downloaded zipped file and allow WordPress the software for you, after that you can easily activate it and every function that was not ok then will now be working perfectly……
